Sara Davis‘ poems reveal how happiness and heartbreak—like
beauty and sadness—usually exist together. Before “denial turns
to grief” she foresees and says “in a pattern of my own choosing”
what love might mean for the old and young. And she says it
memorably. That’s what a poet does. That’s what her poems do.”
