“Valuable things are found in the raw, sticky pages.  A grandmother’s lost wedding ring.  And a poet’s voice.”

–Lynne Hartke, author, Under a Desert Sky, American Cancer Society, Voice of Hope 2018, www.lynnehartke.com

Angela LeBlanc, currently Southern California high school teacher with origins from Ohio, captures the gothic side of the rootless west that and the mid-western gothic that we know from James Wright. Her poems have moments that feel weird, hurt and real as the coffee cans full of bacon fat in the back of a refrigerator that she places in one of her poems. Never prosy, her lines waver between poetry, where the images and movements come from, and a line that extends into fiction from a story trove somewhere in the attic, or the basement, or in the weeds.”

–David Blair, author, Ascension Days and Arsonville, davidblairpoetry.com

“What makes poetry great is not just style, prose or artistry, but rather heart, conviction, honesty—and a willingness to be vulnerable.  Rarely has a poet captured these nuances as fully and as blindly as LeBlanc.  Read. Embrace. Be challenged. Become.”

–Nathaniel Dunigan, PhD, EdM, author, We are not Mahogony: Three Stories About the Male African Life, The AidChild Leadership Institute, aliuganda.com

This collection of poetry is a window into the soul of the author. At times raw, other times yearning, always real. It allows us to catch fleeting glimpses of the events that shape a being, from the mundane to the traumatic and everything in between. It takes us to broken places and in search of healing. Sometimes finding it, sometimes maybe not.

Angela Leblanc, you are an amazing individual and everything you’ve been through just shapes you into the beautiful person you are today. Stay strong!

  3. Karen Mello (verified owner)

If you have experienced similar situations you can relate. If you haven’t experienced similar situations you, you get it. The journey is real; Angela takes the reader by the hand and walks them along side of her.
