Ben E. Campbell was born and raised in southeast West Virginia. The grandson of an underground miner who lived in constant connection to the land, he was made to appreciate the beauty and destructive power of those natural forces that steer Appalachia’s course. These poems lament the loss of a bygone era and a man who embodied its spirit. Campbell’s poems, short stories, and essays have appeared in a variety of literary venues. He resides in the historical town of Lewisburg, WV with his wife and two daughters.
