Go Here, See Elsewhere by Prairie Markussen

$14.99

In these twenty-seven indelible poems, Markussen draws us into literature’s imaginary places, and peoples them with voices as varied and enthralling as the landscapes they inhabit. She writes with exceptional wit and humor, and with an eye for the absurd. These poems invite readers back into the make-believe worlds we thought we knew and imbues them with both empathy and the intensity of myth. A captivating read!
–Mary Volmer, author of Reliance, Illinois

Go Here, see Elsewhere is like the best kind of dream. We accept its fantasy as straightforward, as if we’ve always belonged in it. Markussen takes us to places we couldn’t have ever visited and makes us feel like we know them and the voices that inhabit them. One might consider these persona poems, but Markussen’s speaker has a strong enough identity throughout to take over the varied settings in a singular thread of yearning.
–Daniel M. Shapiro, author of (This Is Not A) Mixtape for the End of the World

With Go Here, See Elsewhere, Markussen has constructed worlds, and blessed us with the opportunity to see them. This is not a collection of poems; it’s an enchantment, one that will allow every reader to immerse themselves in the realms that Prairie has so painstakingly crafted.

–Berte Reyes, The Smart Ways to Play and Hate (forthcoming)
