Sun by Benjamin Nash

I think that this collection could light up your day.
Nash uses language inventively. Among his many virtues is effective use of alliteration and he deftly avoids the “Peter Piper” effect
.
His use of objects that wouldn’t seem to relate and make them work together effectively, as in the poem “Dutch Oven”, is impressive. Last but not least, Nash makes word play fun, not forced as is sometimes the case with other poets.

A WORTHWHILE READ.

–Bradley R. Strahan (publisher and former Prof. at Georgetown Univ.)

Benjamin Nash first became interested in poetry in a class at the University of Houston. It was years later that he started to write. At some point he decided that he wanted to share his poetry. This book is his opportunity. Most of these poems are about his life in Texas, the blend of rural and city life, and the struggles we all face.

Benjamin Nash started writing poetry at about the age of 40 years old. This is his first published book of poetry. He is a member of the Austin Poetry Society and enjoys growing flowers. His poems have appeared in Louisiana Literature, Concho River Review, Pembroke Magazine, Kestrel, Illuminations, VOLT, RHINO, 2River, Blueline, Visions International, The Texas Observer, Streetlight Magazine, Green Hills Literary Lantern, Southern Poetry Review, Voices de la Luna, The Cape Rock, Tule Review, Hamilton Stone Review, and various other literary journals. Most of his poems are about everyday life experiences.
