Birdsong & Buckshot – An Elegiac Echo by Bevil Townsend

$19.99

Birdsong and Buckshot, An Elegiac Echo, Bevil Townsend‘s long-awaited debut is a wonder.  Not only do the poems manage to pay homage to a lost father but they sing out, they sing into, and in singing, like water rounding a stone, they manage to turn loss to lyric.  By the time we arrive at a final poem’s affirmation, “I believe in fracture,” we’re completely convinced; yes, it is through sound and the strange logic of poetry that our collective brokenness makes connection more possible. I’m grateful so for this book.
