Dawn McDuffie has an MFA from Vermont College and has taught creative writing at Detroit’s Scarab Club and Opera House. Her poems have appeared in Rattle , Driftwood , Diner , The MacGuffin , Feminist Studies , and the recent anthology Mona Poetica . An essay, “Humor in Poetry,” was nominated for a Pushcart Prize. Her first chapbook, People in My Head , won the Heartlands Today contest in 1997 and her second, Carmina Detroit , was published by Adastra in 2006. She taught high school English in Detroit for twenty- five years.
