Explorations by Gregory Ashe

Filled with tremendous patience and perfect detail, Ashe manages to go back in time and clear away the spoil from our humanity. With an artist’s eye and a watchmaker’s intuition, Ashe tenderly opens up time for each of us and in doing so unearths our deepest longings as well as the secrets each of us would rather deny.  Explorations is both an engaging testament and a minimalist confession that takes us away from the dream of separation.  In the end, Ashe confidently reminds us that even the soil from which each artifact is recovered helps us recreate and reconnect with a place we once called home.

–Slash Coleman, best-selling author The Bohemian Love Diaries

Gregory Ashe presents a world of Walt Whitman like wonder in these poems. His words channel a strong voice, a fired up soul, and a commanding vista of verse. The poems are firmly grounded in experience and day to day life yet they take you on a journey into Ashe’s own explorations of his world – “No wonder our ancestors thought stars were campfires”. I am glad I took the journey with him!
–LB Sedlacek, author of Mars or Bust

It’s obvious in his poetry that Ashe feels an intimate connection with the natural world.
–Neva Jean Bryan, author of St. Peter’s Monsters and Sawmill Boys: Poetry & Short Fiction
