In Geography of Loss, Judith’s artfully crafted imagery invites us to wade whole-heartedly into an exploration of loss in all it’s sadness and beauty. From a simple kitchen spatula evoking memories of a lost generation, to sitting at the bedside of the dying Judith’s poetry illuminates the power of fully facing grief and loss. She asks us to acknowledge all that is transitory, which is everything. And in being with that reality, she leads us to a place of healing and peace.
Judith’s poems speak elegantly yet simply about loss and life and love. Her poignant words about her personal experiences tap into the universal experience of what it is to be human, to connect, to love, to lose and to carry on. Held in her words, one can feel deeply, perhaps cry, maybe laugh, and most certainly be changed.
