Her Hair Plays With Fire
by Mary M. Sesso
$14.99, paper
My poems are a record of love of the body, the physical world and family, many of the themes that appeared in my debut chapbook, The Open Window. They encompass the past, what I witnessed as a nurse, problems growing old, and death. They’re not afraid to hold hands with humor, sadness and bright color. And, I’ve tried to balance loss with love, the ugly with beauty, each with honesty.
Mary M. Sesso grew up in Michigan and now lives in Maryland. She is a retired nurse and volunteers at the National Children’s Center. Her poetry has appeared in a number of magazines and she is active in three poetry workshops.
