Alison Woods’ poetry collection, New Forest, won the New Woman’s Voice Award in 2010 from Finishing Line Press. She earned an MFA in Poetry from Columbia University in NYC, after earlier studies with Robert Olen Butler and John Wood at McNeese State University in Louisiana, Alan Ginsberg and Lew Asekoff at Brooklyn College. Her poems have appeared in literary journals including Bigcitylit.com, Poetry East, Rattallapax, Rattle, The Kean Review, The National Poetry Review, Onthebus, The Paris Review, Salamander, and The Western Humanities Review. Born and raised on the upper west side of NYC, she moved to Ridgefield, CT in 2009, and has taught writing privately, at Norwalk Community College, and the Ridgefield Public
