Jean L. French was born in a sawmill town on the northern California redwood coast. French joined the English faculty at the College of Southern Nevada in Las Vegas, Nevada, in 2003, and was the poetry editor for Red Rock Review for five years. She is now retired from teaching. In 2005, French’s first chapbook, Paean, was published by Finishing Line Press. Her second chapbook, Green Philosophy, will be published by Folded Word in 2014.
