” A sense of wonder in both the awe and questioning sense satiates many of these poems, reminding us of possibilities for change, for something new to crack everything wide open.”
–Nina MacLaughlin, The Boston Globe Book Reviewer

Finishing Line Press is pleased to announce the publication of Resting Place, the fourth collection of poems by Dartmouth writer, Theresa Hickey.  In each of her poems,  Theresa engages the reader to spend time in meditation of the Scriptures as a way to listen to the still, small voice within.  Everyone needs a “resting place.” the author says. “Once we realize we are at home within our heart’s center, we can glimpse the depth of God’s love.  The desire to share faith becomes centered as we become more like the people we are meant to be.”

Another of Theresa’s books of spiritual poems, Shy, earned a poetry award by the Catholic Press Media Association of the U.S. and Canada.  Choosing the Contemplative Way is a workshop designed around the book in which the poems are read in community to uplift and support our daily efforts to live a Christian life in the midst of a chaotic world.

New England Memories, FaithND (Notre Dame), Halcyon Days, NatureWriting, Still Point Arts Quarterly, Lifespan, Sextant and other journals have published Theresa’s work. During the winter, she participates and has facilitated the Pelican Bay Women’s League Writers of Florida.  A former Salem State University arts’ administrator and married for 59 years to writer/ author, Michael Hickey, the couple are Communicants of St. Mary’s Dartmouth, MA, and St. John the Evangelist, Naples, FL.  They have four children and seven grandchildren.

You may contact Theresa at theresadhickey@gmail.com if interested in ordering books for fundraising projects, faith-education programs or gifts.  Proceeds from sales will be donated to food  banks or other nonprofits.
