Roots (Or, This May Be Where I Came From) by Lissette Lendeborg

— Richly soulful sustenance —

  • A cosmic serenade —

Nostalgically anticipant, both painterly and sorrowful, the synthesis of bitter truth and absolute ambrosia meld to wild effect—kaleidoscopic, vast yet introspective.   With deep connections to nature and God, Lendeborg reminds readers of poetry’s power in the twenty-first century. Exploring vivid hues of youth, recalling freedom, seeking peace, this resonant collection wields a wealth of raw emotion.

Where beauty blossoms, sacred roots spread bravely through the soil.

Lissette Lendeborg studied Creative Writing at an arts intensive high school in Miami, Florida. She then went on to Purdue University under the same study. Soon after, realizing that university is not built to contain every mind, Lissette found herself in Los Angeles, California, to explore new genres of writing. She spent time studying at the Upright Citizens Brigade Los Angeles Theater. Since then, she has moved back to Miami and begun her studies at the New York Film Academy, campus in South Beach. Her poetry can be found published in literary journals such as Poetry Matters, Orange Island Review, and Di-Verse-City Youth Anthology. She has been invited to read at the Miami Book Fair on two separate occasions. Lissette was awarded the Playwright Discovery Award in 2017 by the John F. Kennedy Center of the Performing Arts, and her prose can be found published by Litro Magazine. She only hopes to continue growing in her craft.
