Rosamundo by Barbara de la Cuesta

$19.99

Barbara  de la Cuesta’s Rosamundo is  a tour de force of the madcap world we all inhabit,  whether we know it, or not! Some of her characters are quite delusional; others, not so much. And the caretakers, who share intimately in their lives, live somewhere in-between. That ….Everybody has a story, is the genius of de la Cuesta’s writing where we get….all kinds. Through the genre of a prose poem, she captures both the stilled beauty of the lyric line:  Priscilla, cycling to work in the milky dawn; as well the full-throttled pitch of prose: Pigeons that strut on their red legs, that one might say were beautiful, if there were not so many of them.  De la Cuesta is a cross between Flannery O’Connor, and Roddy Doyle. Pull up a seat at The Sunshine Club; …meatloaf- served-with-jello, or plain old cake-and-coffee, the fare will delight.

–Kate McCann author of Barn Sour, A Roof Gone to Sky, The Sea’s Rosary
