There is a gravity in Salted Wakings that pulls the reader down, in and through a poetics salted with stories, each having wings! This is soul-making at its finest!
–Stephanie Pope, mythopoetry.com
Judith Kennedy’s world invoked in these beautifully attuned poems extends from ancient myth to contemporary intimate domestic detail. Gently, with gravitas, with quiet passion, with acutely attentive empathy, these poems probe the boundaries of “lilac and light,” of dream and waking, of our fragile mortality and the stars’ magnificent silence. Salted Wakings is a book of extraordinary depth and insight.
–Harold Schweizer, author of The Book of Stones and Angels and Miriam’s Book
Judith Kennedy’s empathetic eye captures moments fragile and full of meaning. Salted Wakings provides a map and a compass through unfamiliar forests and guides our way home.
–Le Hinton, author of Sing Silence and The Language of Moisture and Light
