Laura Lee Perkins, MS won her first poetry contest at age nine for a poem titled My Parakeet. She’s authored 100+ published poems and articles and nine books. A Chicken Soup for the Soul: HOPE & MIRACLES author, Laura was awarded five artist-in-residencies, won 3rd place in the 80th Annual Writers’ Digest Contest (Inspirational Category) and 3rd place in the 2017 Contest Creative Writing Institute’s Short Story Contest and she’s received 13 grants. As an author, educator, lecturer and musician, Laura Lee Perkins writes from the inspiration of Maine’s rocky coast (May-Oct) and from Arizona’s desert stillness (Nov-Apr).
