Sara Davis has been writing poetry and fiction since she could first hold a pencil. She is a Fellow of the Western Pennsylvania Writing Project at the University of Pittsburgh. Now retired, she continues to work with Young Writers Institutes. She credits her own long-time writing group for keeping her passion for writing alive.
Her poetry has appeared in The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and The Broad River Review. It has been anthologized in the Writing Project chapbooks, Threads and Riverspeak, as well as in PoeArt: Where Poetry, Spoken Word and Visual Art Intersect, a series of readings, one in conjunction with the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust. Her work is also included in Lavenderia, a Mixed Load of Women, Wash, and Words, published by City Works Press.
She lives in the house where she grew up in Monaca, Pennsylvania, near her four children. Her constant companion is her dog Fred, who loves to hike with her in the hills near her home. She also shares her time with Fred’s arch-nemesis, Sootie the cat.
