Time Travel by Suzanne Carey

Although the final poem, “Gone,” observes “time only flows in one direction/and can never be rewound,” Time Travel moves fluidly back through decades of the author’s experiences, weaving them into a work of memory and revelation.

Time Travel

$14.49, paper

Born in San Francisco, I have lived on the San Francisco Peninsula all my life. I have BA and MBA degrees from Stanford University.

I retired after a forty-year career in finance, accounting, tax, management analysis, and instructional design, the final twenty-nine years at Stanford, where I took many Continuing Studies classes in literature, writing, studio art, and art history. For eleven summers, I attended Wildacres Writers workshops and retreats in Little Switzerland, North Carolina.

While I have always been a writer and artist, after retiring, writing and art became full-time pursuits. I developed my drawing, painting, printmaking, and fiber arts skills at the Pacific Art League in Palo Alto, Kala Art Institute in Berkeley, and the Richmond Art Center and participated in  writing workshops with Ellen Bass and Kim Addonizio For several years.

I enjoy traveling, although I am doing less nowadays, and I am a prolific photographer.
