A Day in the Woods by Mia Eriksson

In Mia Eriksson’s brilliant new collection, A Day in the Woods, language and time vibrate like waves. Eriksson’s poetry is powerful and filled with punch: “I was a deer I watched / the grass being measured / and carved and sold and / cities being built I was a deer / I was skin and bone.” The poet affirms that poetry is a truth revealer—filled with drunken beauty.
