PRAISE:
“In Dreamboat, past, present, and future exist on a single continuum. We move seamlessly with the narrator between wakefulness and dreaming, the real and the surreal, the living and the dead, encountering such age-old themes as mortality, spirituality, and the mystery of consciousness. Yet the prose is buoyant, lustrous, and ultra-contemporary, the book’s sensibility often wryly comic. There are smiling cows, spontaneous grooming tips, and ridiculous feats of masculinity. And as for the cruise ship: how compelling it is to be aboard—to roam the decks and crew quarters, meeting passengers and staff, to sleep whenever and for as long as you like, then drink coffee alone on the balcony, watching medieval castles slide by . . . This is a beautiful, deep, and very funny book.”

“There is a place beneath or beyond the merely rational surface, and that is the place where art lives. And that is the place where Jeffrey Skinner‘s genre-defying Dreamboat lives. And that is a place I want to go. And that is a place this book can take you, in addition to the many other places it will take you.”
–Kyle Minor, author of Praying Drunk and How to Disappear and Why
