This chapbook is inspired by Jack Kerouac’s On the Road, a book that had a huge impact on the Beat Generation and still speaks to anyone chasing freedom and meaning today. Through these poems, I explore what travel really means — not just moving through places, but the inner journey of searching, restlessness, and change. While the poems connect with the themes and style of On the Road, they also reflect today’s worries and hopes, mixing the old with the new. For me, the road is more than just a physical path — it’s a symbol of how we keep trying to understand ourselves, our memories, and what life is all about.

PRAISE:

In this chapbook, the spirit of Jack Kerouac’s On the Road is reimagined for a restless modern world. These poems move through highways, memories, cities, silences, and shifting states of mind, asking what it truly means to travel—not only across landscapes, but through uncertainty, longing, and self-discovery. Blending echoes of the Beat Generation with the pressures and hopes of the present day, this collection treats the road as both a journey and a question: What are we running from? What are we searching for? And who do we become along the way? Lyrical, searching, and alive with motion, this chapbook explores freedom, change, memory, and meaning—reminding us that the road is never just a place we go, but a way of trying to understand ourselves.
