Brendan Ogg is the author of a chapbook, Summer Becomes Absurd (2010), and individual poems of his appeared in the journals Takoma VoiceWords as Legacy, and the Journal of Palliative and Supportive Care. Ogg grew up in Silver Spring and attended the University of Michigan, where he was majoring in English. Diagnosed with a brain tumor during his sophomore year, he drew from his love of literature to help deal with his illness, and many of his poems reference his experience with cancer. He died at age 20.
