In life, we travel through time, our own time, the times we’ve inherited, and the time that will remain when we are gone. We experience rhythms of joy, grief, connection, and loss. These poems show the many ways that encounters with love and suffering change us. The poems provide comfort and life from the very places that held loss, and some offer wisdom for the journey. There’s a hint of the mystic, with cries of glory and hallelujah throughout.

PRAISE:
.
There is a compelling grace in the acceptance that pain will find us.  The invitation Griner makes in her writings is a permission to acknowledge open-heartedly the what-comes-without-our-say. There is tenderness in her work, with many ways to say, “Release, be comforted.”  Griner has imbued her collection with the gravitas we sense when losses confront. The truth is suffering changes us, and these poems are salve to the grief that entangles, along with the possibility of vitality in the very places where upheavals alter the inner landscape.
–Stephan Monteserín-Laureano, Artist and licensed Mental health counselor

Angela Griner has done it again. She has taken everything inside her heart and soul and laid it out on every page in the form of beautiful poetry.
–Rev. Katrina E. Jenkins, Assistant Dean for Faith and Spirituality Initiatives at Rutgers University

I am so very grateful that people like Angela Griner exist in the world. This collection of her latest work is so very moving. This is the kind of book that hands you a pocketful of mystery, grief, and rogue blessings, then shows you how to turn them into trail markers home. These poems wander, whisper, nudge, and occasionally elbow you—reminding you that the path is weird, holy, and absolutely worth taking. The heart, insight, and creativity behind her work are truly inspiring, and I am moved by her ability to capture the human experience so beautifully and eloquently.
–Seth A. Cain, speaker, artist, author of To Give the Universe a Hug (2025), Inkblots (2024), & Life is Beautiful (2022)
